The Simple Modern Carbon Filter fits the Mesa Collection Straw lids along with the Brita Filtered Water Bottles. This product lasts approximately 2 months, 40 gallons. Before using a New Mesa filter, submerge the filter in water for 30 seconds then gently rinse from all directions to remove loose carbon particles. Seeing a small amount of carbon particles is normal. It is recommended to let the filter dry completely when not in use. To assemble the filter and straw, insert the filter into the straw piece and press until flush with top of straw. Align the lid and straw and twist into lid to lock. The Simple Modern Carbon Filters removes contaminants that may be found in tap water such as chlorine for taste and odor and Class IV particulates. The filter does not remove known healthy minerals and electrolytes.
